In this class, we did learn about some tips on how to revise lessons and revised the concepts discussed in previous lessons.

The course context was about our academic and professional life. So, we learned a lot about: Job Interview, Got to know an Elementary School, Liaised with a Teacher, Observed a Lesson, Planned a Lesson and Worked with a students.
How can we planning our studies? Using the self-assessment to make a list of things you need to revise, Planning your time and breaks (30-40 min), Setting priorities (most difficult tasks 1st), Findding a peaceful place to study, Talking to your family and friends, Searching the web (lots of materials), Recording audios, Taking notes and organize information in maps, Been positive and keep spirits up!

To be succeed in a Job Interview do you need:

At home - Check the school website, rehearse in front of the mirror, be prepared to answer questions, be confident about strengths and weaknesses, emphasize most significant work or school experiences, future plans and dress properly.

At the reception - Be calm, think positively, have a look at your CV/Résumé, remember the rehearsals, be punctual.

We learned how to answer common questions, for example:

About yourself:My name is... I’m… years old. I’m from... I’m attending… I’m studying for my ….

About Key strenghts: I am a good listener. I have good interpersonal skills. I learn fast. I can work under pressure. I am a motivated person. I am good at dealing with multicultural diversity.

About your pretentions: First, you were highly recommended by....Then, I am very interested in … And finally, the opportunity will allow me to...

About examples of managed:Well, once I....because...So I decided to...and... In the end... and I
was...

About a Elementary School that we studied on the lesson 2, was watched Structures (Administrative offices, art facility, cafeteria, classrooms, courtyards, gymnasium, health services, lobby, media Center, multipurpose rooms, music education, restrooms, science facility). And Staff (Principal, assistant Principal, secretary, lead teacher, teacher, teacher’s assistant (intern)).

Continuing in the lesson 2, Education System: K-4 students are younger than K-10 students. In my opinion teaching adults is easier than teaching teenagers. Finland teachers have a better education base than American teachers. The education system in Finland is more effective than in other Countries.

In the lesson 3:

Of a Lead Teacher - (Facilitate instructions, develop lesson plans, plan, prepare and deliver activities, assess students progress, manage routine and discipline, work with projects,
meet with parents and the Principal, collaborate with the school community).
Of an assistant - (Assist the lead teacher, Demonstrate or micro-teach, Monitor student’s activities).
How to conduct a class (What do you know about it? Where can you find it? Why did you think that? How long should you use it? Could you give me more details? Is it from a different country?Have you ever tried it?)

Giving Feedback - (Brilliant! Lovely! Well done! It’s not bad, but… You are almost there, but What if you… What about… Have you considered...)

In the lesson 4:

Classroom peer observation

Identify the focus of the observation,
agree on date/time/duration, provide
background and context for the lesson.

Observer records/data, discrete interaction
with observed teacher/students.

Share the recorded data, reflect on the
agreed focus, and pose questions to
prompt further development.

What may to have in a Classroom observation checklist: (Organization, Relationship (Rapport), Teaching Methods and content, Presentation, Class Management, Personal, Summary Comments (What were the major strengths?, What suggestions do you have to improve your lesson?, What progress did you observe? (repeat)).

Important is explain considerations to your student (Debriefing), for example: Your organization was fabulous! You presented an overview of the lesson. Evidences of self-confidence were not/weren’t observed. Professional comportment and appearance were/weren’t not observed. You presented an overview of the lesson. You presented the topics in a logical sequence. You held interest of students. You were (very) respectful, fair, and impartial.

In the lesson 5, Planning a Lesson - We watched about “Lesson Plan structure”: (Identification: name, date, course,
duration, subject, lesson/unit), Lesson aims, Lesson objectives, Assumed prior knowledge, Resources, Assessment, Components of a lesson: (time, teacher activity, student activity, and resources)

Also we can plan interaction and feedback: Address good points. Emphasize the achievement.
Address areas to improve. Ask questions that lead to an expected outcome.

In the lesson 6, Working with the students,we watched about “Monitoring: classroom management technique”. It involves: (Walking around the classroom, Assessing both individuals and the whole
class, Checking student’s understanding of the content, Listening to errors and motivating self-correction, Taking opportunities to micro-teach, Assigning, collecting, and correcting homework, Use different techniques to engage students in reflective thinking of how they learn).

Checking understanding:

Assessing Previous Knowledge - Have you ever seen a cheetah?

Pre/ Misconception - I am not sure about that / it. Can you give me a different example?

Verifying content - What was the most important thing you learned today?

Documenting problems - How did you solve this problem?
